Through inhibition of MEK 1 and 2 kinase activity, trametinib causes decreased cellular proliferation, cell cycle arrest, and increased apoptosis.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5 data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHow should I take this medication? \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOral:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Take 2 mg once daily (usually in combination with dabrafenib); until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eHow to Take:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Administer\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Trametinib\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003euse has been associated with rare but serious adverse events such as bone marrow suppression, cardiac events, dermatologic toxicity, febrile reactions, gastrointestinal events, hemorrhage, hepatotoxicity, hyperglycemia, hypertension, malignancy, ocular toxicity, pulmonary toxicity, and venous thromboembolism.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5 data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhat if I miss a dose?\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIf you miss a dose of medication, try to take it as soon as possible. \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eDo not take a missed dose within 12 hours of the next dose\u003c\/span\u003e.
